Iao Katagiri retired as RAND’s community relations director in 2016, but continues to support RAND’s relationships in Santa Monica as an adjunct staff member. Her work as a community-based nonprofit organization leader maintains her already robust relationships with government officials, business and community leaders, and residents. She is currently president of Connections for Children, corporate secretary of the Westside Food Bank, treasurer of WISE & Healthy Aging, co-chair of both the City of Santa Monica’s Child Care & Early Education Task Force and the Early Childhood District Advisory Committee of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District. She is also an appointed commissioner on the city’s Arts Commission, and serves on the boards of Providence Saint John’s Health Center and the Santa Monica College Associates. She assists RAND research projects and the Pardee RAND Graduate School in activities requiring local community participation.
